Yurts & Accommodation

‘Resting in yurts beneath the star-glazed canopy of the night sky’

Yurts

Between Spring and Autumn The Pantglas Centre offers a number of beautiful hand-crafted yurts for eco-accommodation, to be used during courses, workshops and retreats. Made from sustainable timber our yurts are set amongst 6 acres of woodland and meadow. Imaginatively situated in a way which blends with the natural surroundings, each yurt site is environmentally low impact sitting lightly on the earth. The yurts are either gathered in small clusters, private yet communal, or are in more secluded locations. Centrally placed there is a large communal fire pit – perfect to gather around on a star-lit evening and watch the fire sparks disappearing into the night sky. Each yurt has a small front deck and a solid wood front door which is lockable. The central tono at the top of the yurt allows for clear views of the sky through perspex and ensures that each interior is light and airy. Each yurt comes complete with wool insulation and a wood burning stove for chillier evenings. For warmer temperatures the yurt cap is easily removed to allow a free-flow of air and an even clearer view of the sky!

Inside your yurt

You will find the interior of your yurt cheerfully decorated with ethically sourced rugs, cushions and lanterns and containing two single wooden beds with cosy duvets, crisp linen and colourful throws. There is a small table, a low stool, a privacy screen, a mirror and a log basket full of logs cut especially to the size of your small stove. (You are welcome to refill your log basket from the log store whenever you wish). The circular design of the yurt offers a centering space and provides a sense of both stillness and cohesion. Imagine awakening in a light filled space, bathed in the warm glow of the morning sun, secure in your yurt listening to the gentle sway of the breeze in the trees.

Each yurt is equipped with the following:
  • 3 low energy camping lanterns (for reading)
  • 2 wind-up torches
  • Full bedding
  • Privacy screen
  • Fire lighters and lighter
  • Tea lights
  • Kitchen roll
  • First aid kit
  • Smoke alarm
  • Fire extinguisher
  • Boot stand
You will need to bring:
  • Towels
  • Walking boots and/or wellies

For visitors staying in yurts, the cottage provides a communal dining area with tea and coffee making facilities and a relaxing sitting space with a log burning stove. There is a well appointed shower and washroom containing two generous shower cubicles, two loos and three wash basins for ladies and a separate shower, loo and wash basin for gentlemen.

Additional to the yurt accommodation Pantglas offers a cosy guest bedroom within the cottage which has a king-sized brass bed, gorgeous views across the valley and an adjacent small bathroom with shower and bath.

‘Staying in the yurt one is aware of the weather, the changing seasons, the surrounding countryside and wildlife, and one’s place in the eco-system in a way that no house-dweller can ever be’
